Shanghai is set to host a new public exhibition featuring Harry Winston’s gemstones, high jewelry, timepieces, and archival designs. Titled “Rare Jewels of the World,” the show will run from Sept. 7-13 at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre.
More than 165 high jewelry and timepiece creations will be displayed together for the first time, representing “the pinnacle of rarity, beauty, and unparalleled craftsmanship,” according to the brand. The exhibition reflects “the discerning eye and uncompromising standards” that have shaped Harry Winston for over 90 years.
A 165-Piece Show Built Around Rarity
The display features 10 curated galleries with immersive elements designed to take visitors from Winston’s early career to modern-day designs. One section, the “Heritage Tunnel,” will show never-before-seen images and videos of Winston’s life, while the “Vintage Gallery” presents landmark creations from the brand’s archives.
There’s also a section dedicated to Harry Winston’s history in China. That part reveals the jeweler’s longstanding connection with the country, as 2026 marks thirty years since the house hosted its first exhibition at the Palace Museum in the Forbidden City in Beijing.
Other galleries examine the brand’s design language, including the evolution of the “Winston Cluster,” its signature design created in the 1940s. The cluster motif features pear, marquise, and round brilliant diamonds set at varying angles to create sculptural, highly dimensional designs that capture light from all directions, as described on the Harry Winston website.

Visitors can also take an interactive stroll through Central Park, a nod to Winston’s affinity for New York. That leads to two high jewelry galleries featuring a selection of one-of-a-kind masterpieces.
The exhibition is the latest in a series of high-profile brand showcases that blend commercial appeal with archival storytelling. Luxury houses have increasingly turned to public exhibitions to cement their heritage in key markets, and Shanghai has become a frequent stop for such events. The timing here, ahead of the Palace Museum anniversary, gives the show a narrative hook that goes beyond the usual sparkle.
The Diamonds at the Center of the Show
At the heart of the exhibition is the Winston Pink Legacy Diamond. The fancy vivid pink diamond, one of the rarest pink diamonds in the world, weighs 18.96 carats, honoring Winston’s birth year.
The Rockefeller-Winston Emerald will also be on display. The 18.03-carat emerald is named after its previous owner, the Rockefeller family. Today, the gemstone is set in a Winston-style ring with diamond accents.
“Rare Jewels of the World” celebrates Winston’s profound imprint on the industry, his pioneering design vision, and the house’s continued commitment to “only the most exceptional,” the brand said.
