The Carolina Hurricanes celebrated their Stanley Cup championship with a private ring ceremony this week in Raleigh, North Carolina.
A Ring with Hidden Surprises
Each ring is a masterpiece of detail. The face displays the team’s logo alongside a diamond-encrusted Stanley Cup, surrounded by 66 rubies—one for each playoff goal. A sculpted rope motif symbolizes the team’s unity, inspired by their locker-room tradition of “pulling on the same rope.”
The left side honors the team’s regular-season success with 0.53 carats of diamonds for the 53 regular-season victories, while the right side is personalized with each player’s number and signature. The interior features the Hurricanes’ mascot, Stormy, encircled by diamonds and rubies representing their 69 combined wins.
A Pendant Within the Ring
The top of the ring detaches to reveal a championship puck pendant. This hidden gem can be worn on a necklace, with one side displaying the Stanley Cup and the other personalized with the player’s number. The underside of the ring top showcases the North Carolina state flag, framed by 42 diamonds for the 42 goals scored in the Eastern Conference Final and Stanley Cup Final.
The shank is engraved with the team’s 16-3 post-season record and the scores of each playoff game.
A Symbol of Team Culture
“Every detail reflects the character of this team,” said Eric Tulsky, general manager of the Carolina Hurricanes. The phrase “Stress Game” is inscribed on the ring, honoring the team’s relentless style of play. Arasheben emphasized the goal was to create a lasting symbol of the championship season, not just another ring.
