The Academy Awards is one of the most prestigious events in Hollywood, and Bvlgari has been a part of it for generations. The Roman jeweller has dressed many leading ladies, including Elizabeth Taylor and Ingrid Bergman, and recently, Zendaya and Priyanka Chopra Jonas. At the 98th Academy Awards, Bvlgari gave the world a glimpse of its forthcoming Eclettica high jewellery collection.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas wore the Bvlgari Eclettica Serpenti high jewellery necklace on the red carpet. The necklace features a 14.01-carat antique cushion-cut sapphire from Madagascar surrounded by pavé diamonds, buff-top emeralds, and onyx.

The Eclettica Collection

The Eclettica collection is inspired by sculpture, painting, and architecture, and draws on Bvlgari’s Roman heritage. The collection’s title, Eclettica, means eclectic, free of hierarchy, and boldly imaginative. The Bvlgari Eclettica Serpenti Illusio high jewellery necklace is a perfect example of this, with its structure that moves gracefully with the body, featuring a complex arrangement of elements.

The necklace is built around the sapphire and features 235 individual elements that took over 1,300 hours to craft. The result is a dazzling composition that appears to be a hypnotic geometry of diamonds at first glance, but slowly reveals itself to be a serpent, Bvlgari’s most iconic symbol.

Anne Hathaway’s Choice

Anne Hathaway, another Bvlgari ambassador, chose the Neoclassical Starlight high jewellery necklace, a platinum creation featuring an 8.02-carat pear-cut Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond. The diamond is surrounded by a constellation of pear, round, and step-cut diamonds, bringing the total diamond weight to over 35 carats.

The Neoclassical Starlight necklace took Bvlgari’s master jewellers 850 hours to create. The inspiration behind the necklace is Antonio Canova, the great Neoclassical sculptor, with a luminous clarity and perfect equilibrium evocative of another era, reinterpreted for today.

Both necklaces embody the spirit of Eclettica, pushing the idea of high jewellery somewhere more ambitious. If these two extraordinary pieces are anything to go by, the full reveal of the Eclettica collection later this month will be worth the wait.

As Bvlgari continues to innovate and push boundaries, it’s likely that the Eclettica collection will be a significant milestone in the world of high jewellery. With its unique blend of Roman heritage and bold imagination, Bvlgari is poised to make a lasting impact on the industry.

A Legacy of Excellence

Bvlgari has a long history of excellence in the world of jewellery and watches. With its commitment to quality and innovation, the company has established itself as a leader in the industry. The Eclettica collection is just the latest example of Bvlgari’s dedication to creating exceptional pieces that showcase its artistic audacity.

The Bvlgari Eclettica Serpenti Illusio and Neoclassical Starlight necklaces demonstrate the company’s ability to craft detailed and beautiful pieces that are truly one-of-a-kind. As the Eclettica collection is set to be officially unveiled later this month, fans of Bvlgari and high jewellery enthusiasts alike are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see the full collection, which promises to be a luxury jewellery showcase.
